My Students

I work at a K-8 Title I school located in the heart of Harlem. Our vibrant neighborhood is filled with a rich history. At our school, most students receive free or reduced rate lunch. Although not rich in resources, my students are the most amazing, passionate, curious thinkers, builders, and explorers. They are learning and growing every day. They enjoy learning, and have a desire to learn, even from home! They motivate me and enrich my passion for teaching. In an effort to close the achievement gap, I would like to obtain resources to enhance learning opportunities whether we are in school or at home.

My Project

As a teacher who is moving to a new grade, from First to Third, new materials are needed. This project will allow me to get grade level appropriate materials for the students in my class for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Materials are for the areas of mathematics, reading comprehension, and writing practice.

The practice books will assist me with providing materials for guided practice, independent practice, or homework.

The bingo games will provide an opportunity to practice information learned in the form of a game. All of the materials will assist with developing and building skills.

Ms. Tashom Future Leaders Institute Charter School Grades 3-5
