My Students

This school year we are opening our program to 3K students along with Pre-K. Our program is growing fast and our student enrollment has increased drastically. We have 11 different locations on Staten Island to serve 3K students.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Some are attending school for the first time, while others are joining us after completing another pre-school program.

I intend to run a Physical Education program that will focus on early childhood development and motor skills. Students will be growing and learning this year in my classroom using many different skills, including enhancing gross motor movement and fine motor skills, among many other things.

My Project

I am requesting big foam building blocks and waffle block set. Block play is beneficial not only for physical, emotional and social development, but also for cognitive, as it includes symbolization and representation, directionality, the process of making comparisons, classification, following sequence and supports thinking and reasoning.

When these skills are underdeveloped in childhood, a child's ability to participate in and enjoy physical activity and play can be greatly diminished.

When practicing fine motor skills, children will not only gain intellectually but also grow in strength, develop new skills and enjoy increased confidence levels in the face of new challenges.

Building is all about size, shape, weight, leverage, and balance, and as your child works this out, their play will become more and more complex. As the complexity increases, so does their concentration level.
