Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.

I like my classroom to be a hands-on, fun learning environment. When you walk into my classroom you immediately see learning occurring. Children are engaged in small group projects, building interesting structures with blocks, and determining what sinks and what floats at the water table. I like to ask questions, pointing out children's successes and guiding learning. I want my room to have a sense of purpose, organization, and excitement.

My Project

These materials will make a big difference in my student's learning by helping them to investigate and explore the classroom. We do a lot of science projects and the materials will enhance their experiences. The treasure tubes will help my students can easily collect, curate, experiment with, and display found objects and liquids with these sturdy, clear acrylic Treasure Tubes for 360-degree viewing. Removable covers make it easy to add trinkets, natural materials, and sensory objects to observe, display, and rattle. Ideal for color and sound exploration and light table activities. Holds marbles, beads, twigs, leaves, small toys, and more. Stack the tubes on top of each other to customize the play experience. In addition, the other materials will also be added to our science center. A science center is so much more than just a place to put science-related materials in the classroom. A real science center is interesting, inviting, and offers children opportunities to explore, discover, and use their senses. These materials will definitely change the way they explore this area.
