Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located right in the “Heart” of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. My 3K students come from a diverse cultural background and are learning Spanish in my Classroom! Despite the long distance learning, Families and children are working hard to stay connected and obtain a genuine Preschool experience. As early learners, my students are constantly asking questions, exploring and making sense of the world around them.

My Project

The materials requested will allow my 3K Bilingual students to have direct access to Spanish books & Materials. My students will have a new Spanish book, backpacked each week to learn at home and return, while supporting Remote learning. While in person learning, during center time, students will explore materials in Spanish. During large group instructions, students will gain Phonemic awareness with Spanish Alphabet Tubs & Books. When learning a new language, Phonemic awareness is the ability to hear and manipulate the sound structure of language. These materials will support and enhance their learning of a different language.
