This map will allow my students to visualize their world and their place in it. All of my students have seen a globe and maps before. I have maps I can project on my Smartboard. However, there is just something more "real" to a map you can see, touch, and show spatial relationships with. This map is a 3D map with labeled countries and bodies of water which will cover much of one of my classroom walls. By having a map this large, my students will have a reference for the places we are talking about in the classroom readily available. Additionally, this map is labeled with the 50 US states and capitals, which is an extremely important tool for the AP US History class I teach.
