Our class have two 3D printers that are in desperate need of supplies. This includes filament, the plastic materials that is melted and designed with. Each students will design, create digitally, and then physically build their object using 3D printing in the classroom.
These skills build their problem solving know how, collaboration among peers, and computer science needs for the 21st century and beyond.
Every student has the ability to work with the printers and program an object of their own making. Each students goals will be to go through the engineering process of designing an object specific to the lesson. From there, they have creative authority to complete the 3D printed object.
This is specifically helpful for students who need to work on their basic communication, peer grouping, and maintenances on the printer itself. They will learn how to load and unload filament, remove the objects, and successfully complete their project no matter the spectrum or special need. Each one has full access to this STEM part of our classroom.
