Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Typically, high-precision 3D scanners are costly and are designed for highly specialized users, making these devices unaffordable and unsuitable for the consumer market. That’s one of POP 2’s innovations: while it offers professional-grade high accuracy, this 3D scanner is presented with a consumer-grade price. It’s a one-of-a-kind 3D scanner able to scan small artifacts and use with 3D printing or virtual reality.
This 3D scanner will give students hands on experience with CAD, 3D design, 3D scanning, and 3D printing.
Students will partner with local car owners to scan parts of the vehicle that are missing or damaged. They will then process those images and submit them to be 3D printed. Students can also use their 3D images in virtual reality applications. This technology already has huge implications on the automotive industry. This will prepare our students to work with such technology.
