Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 6th-grade Computer Science students have been developing skills all year based on coding and computer programming. Most of the curriculum is computer-based and requires the use of digital applications or websites designed to explore theoretical concepts; my students are struggling to find the connection between their classwork and real-world application.

The addition of a 3D printer to our Science Department provide teachers the opportunity to implement engaging project-based learning strategies aimed to maximize student creativity through critical thinking and innovative design.

Further, 3D printing allows the theories of Natural Science and the applications of Computer Science to be explored and presented in a tactile and immediate form—surely students will benefit from learning with the assistance of 3D-designed replica models during Biology lab, as well as coding programmable robots to interact with custom-built obstacles and objects.
