My Students

In a typical day in my classroom students are learning about and creating art using various artistic styles, mediums, and processes. Each year I allow students to choose the topics we will cover. This year they want to learn about 3D sculpture and how to integrate technology and art.

Our school is in an urban area located in the heart of the Valley.

Our school educates around five hundred students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. My classroom is full of energetic and creative middle school aged students. They are funny, inventive and love when teachers integrate technology in their lessons.

My Project

Finding interesting and exciting ways to introduce or teach a lesson is of utmost importance. We will be learning about sculpture and other forms of 3D art. Students will first create a small 3D sculpture to see how the pen works. Then students will research, and invent possible solutions to an everyday problem using the 3D printing pens.

This project will improve my classroom in numerous ways.

First, students will learn to use technology to create useful items. Second, students will learn about creating 3D sculptures. Third, students will learn about different career paths that deal with 3D art and sculpture.
