Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will be using the Anycubic 3D printer and accompanying supplies to create scaled models of ancient artifact restorations. Students are engaged in finding a damaged artifact and their job is to research what the artifact would have looked like undamaged and recreate a 3d model of it. we currently do not have a 3d printer so we can not bring their 3D versions of their solutions to life. The finished product will allow them to practice using computer-assisted design software, as well as experience the practice of art restoration. Students will see their own ideas come to life and make something tangible for a project that addresses a problem.

This project would significantly help my students' understanding of the design cycle.

They would see the process connect to a final product, relevant to themselves and impacting the world for better. Students can practice using design technology and experience careers related to it: architecture, graphic design, modeling, and public policy. In the end, they will be problem-solvers, empowered to take the skills and knowledge in their class to improve their lives and those of people around them.
