My Project

The use of art supplies like crayons and markers are used daily in my classroom. Students in my class are encouraged to show their learning in many different ways. This means they get creative and use the art supplies to show what they have learned in class. For example, a student recently wrote a book after we learned about Helen Keller. The student used crayons, markers, pencil and even paint to illustrate the book they wrote to demonstrate their learning.

We use highlighters in math class each day.

As we read through math problems we highlight important parts of the problem that organize our thinking. Making a map through the word problem that guides the student through solving it.

Colorful dry erase markers make learning fun. I often encourage students who have solved a problem in different ways to show their thinking on the whiteboard. Students love getting to come up, pick their favorite color and walk other students through how they solved the same problem, but in different ways. We will use the Crayola dry erase markers as an incentive to come to the board to show your thinking.
