Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students have very limited options for great schooling. It is my job to provide them with the best educational resources provided in other school districts. This year a have a great group of 27 enthusiastic third graders! A majority of my third graders come from very disadvantaged homes and live in the surrounding neighborhood which is very poor and neglected. They are excited to explore the world of third grade school literature, to learn about the classics, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

My Project

Reading Comprehension Games and Language Skills Learning Centers for Common Core Standards as well as Quick-Pick Language Student Activity Cards,Fiction and Nonfiction Paired Passages - Gr. 3 and Reading Comprehension Bingo Library will help my students getter a better grasp of skills needed to be come strong readers!

Literacy centers are an integral part of the classroom, giving students a chance to learn independently and work in small groups.

A literacy center focuses on activities that provide practice of concepts learned in a classroom. Having well planned literacy centers will make it easier for me to attend small groups of learners while the rest of the class is busy with other literacy activities.
