This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Welcome to 3-K for All. This is the first school experience for many of my 2 and 3 year old students. They are eager to come to school and play with new friends. They will develop new skills, passions, and friendships. We need a doll house for pretend play in the classroom.

Our school is a Title I school.

The vast majority of our students are Hispanic or African-American. They come from low income families which work hard to meet the basic needs of their families.

My Project

There are many skills which develop in the early years. My students will benefit from having a dollhouse in our 3-K for All Classroom. They will be able to engage in imaginative play, develop social skills, vocabulary and verbal skills. They will also be able to improve fine motor skills and foster creativity while they have multiple opportunities for open-ended play.

A dollhouse provides many opportunities for children to explore their world in miniature.

Role-playing allows children the opportunity to re-enact scenes from their life. This helps them learn to express and then manage different feelings. Social emotional education is crucial in the early years.
