3-D Observing!

Help me give my students a stereo microscope! I am teaching hydroponics for the second year for K-5 and we grow plants year-round. I am currently initiating composting and cultivating earthworms and mealworms for observing.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is a Title I school in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Our school doesn’t have any microscopes.

When I took my students to a science expo last year they were so excited to use the stereomicroscope and didn’t want to go to any other table. They were amazed.

This stereo microscope will give students an opportunity to view 3-dimensional specimens in our hydroponics classroom. They will be able to just put the specimen on the preví trays and observe in 3-D which will allow them to see 5 hearts of the earth worm!!

Traditional microscopes aren’t equipped with these opportunities!

I think it would be an amazing experience for my elementary students!!
