My Students

Second graders creating Power Point presentations? Absolutely!

My students are so excited and passionate about technology, but come from homes that aren't able to access it.

I not only want to capitalize on their excitement but be able to give them the opportunity to use technology in the classroom. They absolutely get motivated and enthusiastic when they get to use computers and they improve their technological skills when doing so! They also are practicing reading skills and CD players where they can listen and read along to fluent readers and imaginative stories would be so awesome to have!

My Project

Students enjoy using our school computer lab but only get to attend once or twice a week. I would love to have a computer in the classroom where they could practice typing, utilize programs to create reports, and play reading and math games to improve their academic skills. CD players are so helpful as well as they allow more access to varied literature - and students can take portable players anywhere in the classroom during center time to listen to a story in a cozy place.

Ultimately, I want to provide my students every opportunity to help them succeed.

Being fluent in technology is not just a workplace skill to acquire, it is a skill that students now need to be successful in school. I want to be able to ensure my students have every opportunity to learn those skills, while making learning fun and enjoyable in the process.
