My Students

Nelson Mandela once said "education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." I believe this quote is true. But in order to change the word we need to have enough resources in our classrooms to spark student's learning.

My students are in a 12:1:1 Emotional Disturbed class.

Our school environment is safe. Most of my students come from homes of low-income families. Finding the funds for classroom resources can be challenging. But they love using the iPads and this is why I would love to provide my students with a class iPad that would belong to them. My students' learning is sparked through visuals and technology. Being able to have an in class iPad would allow me to include more technology into my class instruction. This would also increase students' learning interest. There are many different apps and learning instructions that can be found online. It would be great to have access to it during our class instruction.

My Project

Our Assistant Principal has found us a great reading program that the kids enjoy doing. They are able to read and listen to stories. But at times we struggle to find time to use the program because we do not have access to our own class iPad. So this limits the amount of reading my students are receiving. They have found a program that interests them and I would love to be able to provide a resource in class that allows them to access it when they want to read. The iPad can provide us with many new programs that can be beneficial for my students. Many of my students do not have the funds to have their own iPads at home. I would love to be able to provide them with an in class ipad that they know they can use to help them build their knowledge. They are bright students who deserve all the resources they can get.

This donation would extremely improve my classroom.

My students are very motivated when using the iPad. It provides them with many resources that they can access in the classroom. This would allow us to incorporate technology into our instruction. My students will have the opportunity to excel in their education and to continue to grow their minds.
