Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A classroom is a second home for students. The most satisfying feeling is having your students want to come to school because they feel safe and welcomed. As a special education teacher , I know that students with special needs and abilities require extra love and care. The environment places an important role in their day to day experience. I have been working in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom for 4 years and this year I am getting my own individual classroom. I will be working with an amazing 2nd grade safe horizon classroom with 8 autistic students. These materials are to help me set up our classroom where my students feel at home. I know the importance and the difference it makes when your students feel like they matter and that you care. I am big on personalizing things and making my students feel special. Students with autism face many challenges already and my number one goal is for them to have a love for education. They are capable of so much and I want to create an environment that helps the process.
