Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are so excited to read, and I have been working on giving them an updated library, with fresh and interesting new books to explore! I want to give them a whole collection of books that are relevant to their lives and interests. While I have been able to give my students many fictional narratives to enjoy, my class is in need of some non-fiction books!

I plan to add a collection of nonfiction books to our classroom library, to spark my student's interests in scientific and social studies topics!

My class completes writing units on informational writing, and biographies each year. Not only would an updated nonfiction library give my students books to read on topics that interest them, but they would also give us wonderful mentor texts to help inspire my students as they are writing their own informational reports, and biographies!
