Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, we are drawing digital portraits of orphans from Ukraine for the last time with The Memory Project. Each year, we have participated in The Memory Project drawing portraits of orphans from different countries for less fortunate children.

My school has drawn orphans in different countries for over 10 years from 22 countries all over the globe with kindness, compassion, and creativity, giving children in need their own portraits to keep and treasure from a child in the United States.

Students learn how to draw digital portraits, learn about the country and culture, and participate in a gift of kindness from them to children in dire circumstances.

I have students for three years, 6th-8th grades, so to make it more challenging they will draw the portraits on blank puzzles we already have and digital portraits to send to orphans in war-torn Ukraine. This project is for 25 more orphans, bringing the total to 100 that we will be able to digitally draw.
