My students need an in-class technological update to engage in our vision of global connections. We are requesting student computers, headphones and a document camera.
In this ever-changing digital world, students need access to practical technological tools for building their 21st century skills. Student computers and a document camera would allow students access to a myriad of experiences via a technological classroom update.
Our students are energetic, thoughtful and well-rounded.
We are an IB school, which means that we promote global awareness among our community of learners. Engaging in thoughtful action cycles is a focus of our school. Access to student computers and a document camera in the classroom would streamline this process for my kindergarteners.
My Project
Our Kindergarten students will use the student computers to research throughout the six units of inquiry during our school year. Students will be able to communicate virtually with other Kindergarten classrooms around the world as well as fact-check and communicate about their findings. Students will use the document camera to hone their presentation skills to their peers about their research and other projects. A document camera allows easier access to material presented for a large group of people vs. a chalk or white dry erase board.
Funding this project is a gateway into accessing the 21st century skills needed by these students to thrive in the future.
They will begin mastering fundamental skills for communicating and collaborating in their collective future.
