This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is characterized by high energy, excited learners. They come from a wide range of backgrounds, and because of that, aid in creating a diverse learning community! My students are technology savvy and love to devour new information.
Critical thinking and cooperation are hallmarks of our learning environment.
We dig deep every day to try to find solutions to academic situations and try to find ways to apply the skills learned in real world situations.
In short, my kids are amazing.
My Project
We live in a digital age with students who have had access to technology from birth. They have grown up in a time where the world was at their fingertips through the use of tablets, phones, and computers. Exposure to appropriate uses of technology helps create citizens that are ready to participate in a global digital society.
Giving students the same access to technology in the classroom in purposeful, intentional, and meaningful ways will have a positive impact on academic goals and digital literacy.
Students will be able to create multimedia presentations and access web-based learning websites to complete center work.
As adults, we use technology daily and kids deserve the same opportunities to familiarize themselves with technology and learn new skills. Adding Chromebooks to the classroom will give my kids the opportunity to conduct self-directed research and get much needed practice on computers. By donating to this project, you will help my classroom become one step closer to a 1:1 device classroom!
