My first grade students come from a low economical area with 80% of them qualifying for free or reduced price lunch. When given the right resources however, my students soar! They love using applications on my personal iPad and I know they will benefit from having more inside the classroom!
Many of my students do not have the right technology at home to help them develop their 21st Century brain.
With these iPads the students will be able to soar into the technological world we are in today!
My Project
As a society we grow from technology and students should be given the same resources to grow as well. With five iPad's in our classroom the students will be able to enhance their reading and math skills by taking use of the amazing applications out there. They will also be able to participate in research based projects and learn new technology skills. I've also asked for an Apple TV so the students can easily share these projects and applications on our Smartboard. This will help them to engage with the rest of the class. Of course you need some covers for these iPads so the students can keep using them for years to come! These students will become more engaged in their learning just from using the technology!
