2021-2022 HOSA Competition Prep

Help me give my students a microscope, textbooks, sterilization wraps, and other materials for the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming year of HOSA competitions. After last year being virtual and the previous year being partially virtual we are excited for the opportunity to compete in person.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My health science students are motivated and eager students that start in the 9th grade and work through their senior year. We have a strong HOSA Future Health Professionals program and have had a state officer 2 years in a row. The students of health science desire to have future careers in the health related fields from biomedical research, nursing, patient care, and pharmacy to veterinary medicine.

My Project

There are several students who would love to have the opportunity to compete at HOSA Future Health Professionals state competition this year in the area of medical reading and veterinary science. I would love for them to have a microscope, textbooks, sterilization wraps, diagnostic kits, dissection kits, and all the other necessary materials and equipment to feel confident in their knowledge. Our school has many students who compete in the annual HOSA competition and even have a state officer for the second year in a row!

We have always had a great amount of interest in biomedical centered competitions but have struggled to get our health science students involved.

If we had all of the necessary materials to prepare them appropriately they would be very successful.
