Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I am a College & Careers Readiness teacher, I also teach Leadership, and I'm the 7th and 8th grade Cheerleading Coach. I attended this school and grew up and continue to live in the Eastwood area. I graduated with a business degree and felt that I could give back what I took for granted so I decided that becoming a teacher was the answer. I began as a Special Ed teacher, then became a 3rd and 4th teacher, and now I'm preparing students for some of the most important decisions they will ever have to make. College and Careers gives them the insight in matching their skills, passions, talents, and interest to what might be their life long career. I help provide the resources so that they don't have to spend the time playing seek and find in finding what is available in colleges and what employers might be asking for. In Leadership I take their strengths and build on them, guide them in developing stronger individuals, and facilitate them in how that can become servants in the community. My students sometimes struggle to acquire all their supplies, since it isn't a core class but required by the state.
My Project
Help me give my students a realistic, real world, hands on experience in order to prepare them for our future! We need a printer, organizer, and laminating pouches. These materials will help to inspire, lead, and serve these fellow students throughout the year. It will give them insight as to how to make their projects professional and provide them with tools, technology that will allow them to gain experience using the resources provided. With your help and donations it will allow these students to be not only academically prepared, but college ready in order to enter high school with an understanding of their future. Students will seek out opportunities to expand and deepen their group and individual leadership skills to positively impact their own lives and those in our community.
