My Students

I am a 5th grade teacher in a low income area, in Brooklyn, NY, teaching children who attend a Title I school.

My students are bright, responsible, energetic and curious to explore and learn new things.

Despite the many challenges of this upcoming school year, they are all excited to be in school, whether it be in-person or remote and are eager to learn. School is a safe place for them to learn and grow, and my wish is to continue to make it safe for them mentally, academically and physically. Materials donated via DonorsChoose.org will truly be beneficial for their educational journey and help keep them safe as we embark on this unprecedented school year!

My Project

When students come into the classroom, and see that it is well stocked for their safety and for their learning it will help motivate them! Obviously the cleaning supplies will help our room stay sanitized, since our city is not providing the proper cleaning supplies to our public schools; the laminating machine will offer protection to important charts and once laminated they can be sanitized as students use them to reference throughout their learning. Finally, the subscription to Time For Kids Magazine helps to bring engaging content to my students for the 2020–2021 school year! TIME, the trusted name in journalism, offers authentic news reporting tailored to students so that our kids can safely keep up with current affairs.
