My Students

Each year we highlight the Young Hoosier Books and you can help make these books available to our students.

Our students are from a high poverty area and don't always have the funds to purchase their own books.

They are bright and creative students who just need the extra incentive to read award winning books. Our media center wants to have these books available for our students.

My Project

The Young Hoosier Books are chosen each year in the state of Indiana and we highlight them in our media center. These award winning books are voted on by the middle school students in Indiana. A special award is given to the author who receives the most votes.

It is important to engage students and encourage them to read.

Having good books like the ones that I am requesting is very important. Our students need to be challenged to read. This Young Hoosier project will provide them with award winning books.
