My Students
My 1st graders live in NYC and come from a variety of backgrounds. My 1st-grade classroom is places where students are equals and respected. Our school provides many opportunities for students.
I am working to create the best classroom environment for my 1st graders.
We are improving our classroom environment by adding additional mentor texts in reading, skin colored markers/crayons for drawing, and another chrome book to further students engagement and excitement for learning. All of these materials together are the perfect refresh as we continue our school year.
My Project
My students LOVE using technology in our classroom. Adding another Chromebook and more headphones will increase the opportunities for all students to have time to use technology at school.
New Mentor texts will get my students excited about reading and writing their own books.
These books are written in the same format as the writing we are doing in class. Seeing that same style of writing in a real book is very motivating.
With more multicultural markers and crayons students won't have to go to a special basket to find their skin color. It will always be available to them just like the peach and brown we already have!
