Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting will be used by my community of self- contained, 1st grade students. The idea is to create a space where they are eager to learn, participate, and work diligently in a comfortable classroom setting. The printer is to provide daily class materials, homework and any additional information that I may need to print out for parents to be notified, for example, IEP notices etc. The tent will be placed in our calm down area for students to access when they are having a melt down or just having a sad day. In this area there will be pillows, stress balls, and gadgets that I have purchased specially for my students with with autism. The rug will be used at the front of the classroom for circle time and mini-lessons. Finally, the math tools such as the ten frames and counting bears will be great for my students who are kinesthetic learners and are motivated with hands-on activities.
