My Students

Do you remember reading your favorite book as a child? Or getting hooked on a book series that you could not put down? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite book series. My students share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books in their favorite series.

Kids are book lovers and should have hundreds of books within reach all throughout the school day.

Our classroom library is an essential resource for 1st grade students. Each day students inquire when the newest books by their favorite authors will be added to the library and if they can be first to check out these books. There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading in my classroom. Please help us expand our classroom library to ensure students have lots of fiction and non-fiction texts to read throughout the school year!

My Project

A leveled library supports student interest and choice which helps students grow a tremendous amount in their reading stamina and abilities. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy - I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently!

Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care.

All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time and supports our workshop model.
