My Project

My classroom is full of kind, caring and energetic 1st grade learners. They are curious about the world around them and love to be helpers in the classroom. They are truly some of the sweetest kids!

Every morning, my students have the opportunity to eat breakfast and then start our day using our STEM Bins.

These STEM bins allow them the opportunity to be creative, build objects, use their fine motor skills and communicate with their friends. This is by far their favorite part of the morning. I have several STEM bins for my students to choose but we are in need of some new options and to provide my students with different materials to use.

I have also learned that some of students really enjoy having their own space and could benefit from a privacy folder. These will be used to allow my students to have their own "office" where they can work and not be distracted by others.

Lastly, in my 1st grade classroom, my students learn best by watching me first. A document camera would allow my students the opportunity to watch me demonstrate and teach writing strategies, using math manipulatives and many other ways!

These STEM bins, privacy folders and the document camera are all items that will help my students have a successful 1st grade year!
