My Students

I teach 25 inner city first grade students. . They are naturally inquisitive and civic minded. As little scientists, these students like to study oceans, lakes and other bodies of water to investigate how they are created and how to keep the water clean and safe for animals, plant life and people. They are curious, exuberant learners who are craving a way to play an active role in making the world a cleaner and safer place to live for all.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are designed to help them create a hands on aquarium. The aquarium starter kit is designed to show students all the elements that make up a body of water. The Back to the Roots Water Garden Duo teaches students to grow a plant garden all year round. Students can harvest organic micro greens and learn how fish waste fertilizes the plants on top and the plants clean the water below. The paper, markers, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may record findings and create books. The donations to this project will help my students have a personal look at how animals and plant life coexist and take care of each other. They will also discover how people can help maintain clean, safe and recreational water all around the world.
