Hi! Thank you for taking the time to check out my project. The new school year is quickly approaching and I am getting excited for my new group of 1st graders. Every year there are some essentials that teachers need in order to start the year off right. For my classroom, the items in this cart are my beginning of the year essentials.
In my cart are 10 items I cannot start the year without.
There are name tags for desks and rainbow name tags for the hallway where they hang their backpacks. There is also magnets that the students' names go on so when they are using the restroom they can move their magnet to the restroom sign. The cupcakes are for displaying the students' birthdays (they love looking at these all year long). The posters and the cut out pencils are for my student of the week. Each week a new student is chosen and they and a friend sit at special desks. The pencils get the name of the star student and the posters are shared by them during their show-n-tell time. The lined tape is to mark sections of our reading table so that kids know where their "area" is for writing. The circle dot stickers are for marking many things around the room. We label the computers, their dry erase magnets, their whiteboards, their pencil caddy etc. Each student is assigned a number at the beginning of the year and then they know what items are their's. Just writing about all these items is getting me excited for the new school year!
