This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A classroom community scanner for my middle school students will serve multiple purposes:

1-Much of our student work is done directly on our Chromebooks; however, the majority of the students I service prefer using pen, paper, and highlighter to access the material in a more tangible manner.

Having a scanner will allow students to still add their more authentic non-technology pieces to their digital portfolios to see their growth and progress throughout the year.

2- As the teacher, the scanner will allow me to provide more resources to our google classroom. For example: photographs, texts, illustrations, technical drawings, spreadsheets, blueprints, animations, magazine articles, games, and much, much more. Being able to provide students with their own individual digital-copy of the materials used in class can serve as a helpful learning tool when attempting to recall material taught.

3- It benefits the teacher and students because it is easy to use, fast, and convenient especially to students above the elementary level. This is a piece of technology the students can use on their, expanding their technology expertise.
