Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Kindergarten Special Education teacher in New York City at a Title I school.

My class consist of students from various backgrounds all with different abilities and talents who have an appetite for learning, especially reading.

While they are in my classroom I strive to provide all of my students with a safe environment, where they are able to explore their interests, be introduced to new ideas, and grow as an individual through engaging, hands on, and meaningful learning experiences. It is my personal goal to instill a love of lifelong learning within them so that they are able to reach their full potential.

My Project

It is my goal to create a diverse library where students are able to see themselves and others throughout the literature they see and hear. I will be sharing these books both in the classroom and remotely with my littles.

It is important for my littles to see themselves in the stories shared andto begin to develop a unique sense of self, build their confidence and share their pride.

Students will be exposed to a variety of diverse texts and work on special activities both in the classroom and at home to share their own unique qualities.
