My Students

My students are amazing kids who face many challenges both at home and at school. My students all have various disabilities, but they don't let their disabilities hold them back.

All of my students are unique, but one thing is the same in each of them: they love to learn!

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and face many challenges before even entering our school. We work together everyday to overcome those challenges and reach new heights. I work with about seventy-five, special education students every week, reaching kids with various disabilities. My students love to move, explore, and play.

My Project

Books are where our stories begin. Books do so much for us- they offer us windows into new worlds, they give us a chance to stand in another person's shoes, and they allow us to keep learning every single day!

My students are readers- even if they don't quite know it yet!

The best way to help them realize that they are readers is first- read to them and second- give them books at their level, that will allow them to feel successful! We need some new books to add to our classroom read-aloud library. Books like The Girl with the Big Big Questions and Gratitude is My Superpower will all be read aloud to my students, helping them to gain perspective and "see" the world. Other books, created for early readers- will allow all of my students to find success as they learn to read!
