This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching financial literacy to students in a low-income Title I school requires a thoughtful approach that takes into account their specific needs and circumstances.

Incorporating puzzles into your teaching strategy can lead to greater engagement, improved problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of financial concepts for elementary students.

The key is to make sure that the puzzles are well-designed, aligned with learning goals, and engaging for your students. I am requesting Building Math Skills Practice Cards, Number Sense Puzzles Set, Wild Side Number Sense Cards and so much more!

Interactive Learning: Puzzles make learning active and engaging, keeping students interested and focused.

Fun Factor: The game-like nature of puzzles can increase motivation and make challenging concepts more enjoyable

Puzzles meet students where they are in their learning journey and extend their knowledge by developing Problem-Solving Skills:

Critical Thinking: Solving puzzles requires students to think critically and develop problem-solving skills.

Strategic Thinking: Puzzles often require planning and strategy, helping students learn how to approach problems methodically.

Teamwork: Group puzzle activities foster teamwork and communication, helping students work effectively with others.

Shared Learning: Collaborative puzzles allow students to share insights and strategies, enhancing collective understanding

Memory and Recall: Puzzles can improve memory and recall as students need to remember and apply concepts.

Pattern Recognition: They enhance pattern recognition skills, which are crucial for understanding complex ideas I can adapt to Student Levels: with Difficulty: Adjust the complexity of the puzzles according to the students’ grade levels and understanding. Or

Scaffolding: Provide simpler puzzles initially and gradually increase complexity as students become more proficient.

Financial literacy begins with hands-on learning:

Active Participation: Puzzles provide a hands-on approach to learning, which can be particularly beneficial for kinesthetic learners.

Immediate Feedback: Students receive immediate feedback on their problem-solving approaches, allowing them to learn from mistakes and successes.
