This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At this point in my career I have a very robust library. It is filled with exciting narratives and interesting informational texts. The students read them in the classroom and they each take five books of their choice home every week to read at home. I would like to fund a new part of my library through this project. I am hoping to add many new books in Spanish. Currently I only have a handful of books in Spanish.
It would be an awesome opportunity to add these books to my library so that my students can bring these books home each week to read and share stories with their families.
The majority of my students and their families speak and read in Spanish. If this project is funded my students will be able to find the joy and excitement of story time with their families at home!
