Students will gain a closer look at DNA with this extremely useful kit! Students need hands-on activities for a unit of study in life science of dna, heredity and genetics. This kit includes micro slide images, microscopes, a class set of student readers, a teacher's guide, and a variety of hands on my students learn this difficult concept as they manipulate objects and explore DNA. I teach in a parish that is one of the fastest growing parishes in the state of LA. Since Hurricane Katrina, we have taken in approximately 200 students. We are located 40 miles NW of New Orleans. With a newly constructed FEMA housing site within 3 miles from our school, we expect to continue to grow by leaps and bounds. I teach 7th grade science to 85 students. With the gaining of this useful kit, the students I teach will be able to get a much closer look at DNA through the use of hands-on materials. The kit does offer a refill so I would like to utilize the kit year after year affecting many students not only this year, but over the many years to come.
