Help Ms. S.

Math and science discovery is an important process for every student. I teach all basic subjects to a class of 20 terrific 3rd graders. My class is just like a family. I looped with my students from 2nd to 3rd grade. So, this is our second year together. The school where I teach is located in a high-need community and it can be difficult to get certain supplies at times.

My students are exhibiting so much growth in literacy and now I want that to be carried on to math and science. They love math, but are having a hard time learning the concepts this school year. 3rd grade includes so much more concepts that 2nd and they are having trouble mastering some. The major problem is they can't grasp how the math is related to the real world. The Real-World Math Kit will give them an opportunity to see first hand how it is and be able to discover that in centers. My students are starting to really show an interest in science and wants so much to do experiments, but I don't have some of the needed materials. The Science Discovery Boxes will give them the chance to do many experiments while discovering various science theories.

The kits I have mentioned will do so much for my students. They will be able to work with their classmates, discover new theories, strengthen knowledge of concepts, and have fun at the same time. I want for them to acquire all the knowledge they can and I am certain these kits will allow that to happen.

By supporting this project, you will be ensuring my students get a chance to learn new things by hands-on discovery. Research proves you retain more information with hands-on inquiry. That is the major goal, for them to carry on what they learn throughout their lives. Your contribution will help them to gain information they can use for a lifetime.
