This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
From eggs to caterpillars to chrysalis to butterflies, please help my students be able to witness the actual Life Cycle of a Butterfly!
I teach second grade in a high poverty neighborhood elementary school. Many of my students have learning challenges. Any concept that I can present with hands-on, observable activities has a much higher impact on the students!
Studying the life cycle of a butterfly on paper is boring, but imagine, seeing it live and in person! The caterpillars arrive as tiny little creatures and right before your eyes they begin eating and eating and in a couple of weeks, they are big, fat caterpillars ready to make their chrysalis. The chrysalis hangs in the butterfly pavilion for a couple of weeks and then the butterflies come out of the chrysalis and begin to flutter around the pavilion. After all butterflies come out of the chrysalis, we will release the butterflies on our campus!
To make this happen, all I need is six Butterfly Pavilions, one for each of my science classes. This will give over 100 students the opportunity to observe - LIVE - THE LIFE CYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY!
Your generous support will make it possible for my students to have a memorable learning experience that they will remember for a lifetime! Thank you for your donation!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
