Listen While They Work

My students need a CD player/iPod dock for audiobooks. We also need the three following audio books: "Stargirl", "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler", and "A Single Shard".

My school is in the suburbs. I teach 4th grade Language Arts. I work with a selected group of students who in danger of failing the state mandated LEAP test. Exposure to reading helps to increase vocabulary and fluency.

I purchased class sets of several novels last year on my own, but we are in need of audiobooks to help the struggling readers to give them extra reading support.

I have a personal iPod that I would love to download books on CD to and play for the students in a listening center. I am requesting a docking station/CD player that would allow me the opportunity to do this. I am also requesting the audio books on CD of "A Single Shard", "Stargirl", and "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler." These three books are favorites in my classroom.

Your help will give my students the boost they need to feel they are the successful readers that I know they can be.
