Help Mr. S.

I work with children from diverse cultures and backgrounds at a wonderful primary school in Fort Worth, Texas, that serves Pre-K through second grade children. Over eighty percent of those children qualify for the reduced lunch program and live in nearby apartment housing. Most of them lack of access to common technology in their own homes. I want to give my students opportunities to create and explore with computers, the Internet, digital cameras, and other types of technology. Our class already has a computer projector; I would like to combine this with a digital camera. With this technology, my students will be able to store and share their work quickly and efficiently. They will be able to create digital portfolios of their artwork and writing. They will be able to record themselves giving book talks, speeches and other kinds of presentations. They will be able to bring in artifacts from home and share them with the class. I am excited to transfer my passion for learning and technology to my students. I am excited to equip them with knowledge and skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
