My project needs a LCD projector to display the presentations the students will be creating.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is focused on 8th grade mathematics.
The situation is our city recycling program is not effective. Participation in the program is in an exponential decline. Our school district is currently not participating in it.
The solution: The 8th grade students at Elliott Grant Middle School will conduct research on the city recycling program. They will create mathematical models representing the program, the historical usage, and make predictions of what will happen to the recycling program under current conditions. They will examine the costs involved in the city recycling program and propose ideas to improve the current situation. (The city is not having good results in participation in the program as of this date.)
The students will make digital presentations of their research and suggestions and present them to the city recycling program, to school board members, and to city council members. We are in need of an LCD projector for the student presentations.
This exciting project will allow the students to study real data, explore the environmentally friendly living practices, and participate in local government. This is a true interdisciplinary unit that could make a difference in the way students view the environment, their role in our city, and explore the real power that they have. You can help make this "Don't Mess with Texas" recycling study a mathematical success.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
