  • Small Rural School Seeking Help

    Funded Apr 22, 2013

The marimba that was donated is greatly appreciated not only by myself, school administrators, and most of all the students. The students were very excited to see this arrive at the school and to witness generosity first hand. They were happy to hear it performed by our percussion section that demonstrated its beautiful sound for the entire school. We also featured this instrument in our recent winter concert. Which was great appreciated by the audience of fellow colleagues, family, friends and members of the community.

We are using the marimba daily as an addition to our small but growing percussion section that is used by dozens of students daily. This generous donation helped our ensemble to fill out a sounds that is sometimes difficult to fulfill because of financial limitations. Learning a instrument and have the opportunity is priceless and you have given several students a new way to show how great they can become.

There is a discipline that is required to play a instrument that students receive that is important to young minds. This later transcends into intelligent young minds eager to learn and succeed. Thank you for your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Barbosa

  • Time to A-Cymbal!

    Funded Apr 22, 2013

My students have been extremely grateful for the addition to our instrument resources. This cymbal has added an extra layer to our musical ensemble which has allowed for more reroertoire options for us. The students have obviously benefited from this donation which allows for more playing options.

We have used this suspended cymbal on several occasions already this school year. Additional instruments help create new avenues for music exploration both individually and as aa group ensemble. It makes a daily difference and will continue to do so for many years to come.

This instrument has made it much easier to teach more techniques to the percussion section and ultimately the band as a whole. New teaching opportunities is something I am constantly striving for. Thanks to your generosity that has been provided to both myself and my students. We are forever thankful to your thoughtfulness and kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Chesnut

  • Materials Needed For Masterpieces!

    Funded Apr 22, 2013

My students were so very excited to received the glazes on my project list! We are so very fortunate to have a kiln in our building, which houses grades k through 5th. My art students are always very eager to create a clay sculpture, but it's the glazes that make the project! In the glaze kit you supplied us, there are 12 brilliant colors: pink, orange, red, purple, light blue, dark blue, yellow, light green, dark green, brown, black and white. The glossy glaze brings out the best of the students creative ceramic piece, and my students are so very excited to see them from the kiln the very first time.

This year I have incorporated a cross-curricular lesson along with Native American pottery. My students were delighted to hear the history of pottery making and how it has not changed that much today!

Thank you for providing our ceramic art glazes for our clay projects! I am so very pleased that you played a vital part of our clay program.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Allen

  • References Stink When You Run Out of Ink

    Funded Jun 12, 2013

I'm not sure I can completely communicate the gratitude I feel towards each and everyone of you who have donated to my cause and my students – 'thank you' just doesn't seem enough. I teach in a rural area where around two-thirds of my students don't have access to the Internet, computer, or a printer. I strive to have a strong art program and with a limited art budget, it is often times difficult to purchase all the materials needed to run my art classes as well as I'd like. I love being a teacher and interacting with young people and it is incredibly motivating for me to see complete strangers taking the time to donate their hard earned money in order to help out young people they don't even know. Amazing! Your thoughtful actions really touched my heart and those of my students, who are not only impressed that strangers care enough to donate but are also grateful and happy to now have access to a colored printer which is used to print references for their works of art. I find my job so rewarding, having the ability to help students succeed and feel accomplished in life. It feels equally good to know that you are part of that success. My sense of purpose has been uplifted by your generous gift. Thank you for believing in me as a teacher, and in my students as our future.

    Sincerely,

    Terra Stenberg, M.A.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stenberg, M.A.

  • Words into Action: Filming for Learning.

    Funded Apr 22, 2013

Lights-Camera-Action! You have made my dream of making these words ring true for my students. My student population is at-risk teens and many have not been successful at traditional schools because of learning disabilities, family problems, probation or substance abuse issues, and as a consequence have fallen behind in credits needed to graduate.

Receiving the Canon video camera from your organization is having such a positive impact on my students. They are so excited and just started filming a new project today. I utilize many creative ways of engaging students to keep learning interesting, and now, with the addition of the camera, my possibilities have just increased!

I took my students to the Apple store to get tutorials on making movies, and the students were so enthused, but disappointed that they did not have a camera. Now-thanks to you-we can produce a better project, rather than just using cell phones for footage!

I love my job, and thanks to the generosity of people like yourselves, I can move forward and see the results in the joy of learning, the pride of achievement and the rewards of engagement when my students have the tool necessary to create a meaningful project.

The attendance of the students involved in this project has greatly improved!

Thank you so much for contributing to the success of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Young

  • Crank That Guitar!

    Funded May 11, 2013

From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank all of you for graciously donating to our project. The students have enjoyed the Amplifier as it was a driving force during our spring concert and 8th grade graduation ceremony. It has been a struggle teaching music without adequate equipment. Because of people like you, I have been able to build my arsenal of instruments. I hope that you will enjoy the pictures of the students enjoying the gifts that you generously donated.

Your donation is making a direct impact in the lives of our students. The children are able to enjoy themselves in their music environment because they finally have instruments to play. These instruments give my students hope for their future. In addition to my teaching schedule, I decided to volunteer and start an after-school session because my students cannot get enough music! I love my job and my students love their music class. We are so grateful to have generous donors who support our cause.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. WEBB

  • Kinder Learning Through Digital Arts

    Funded Apr 22, 2013

Thank you for your generous donation of the mini-iPad for our kindergarten classroom! The students are very engaged using the learning apps and games on the mini-iPad. The mini-iPad is used daily during our workstations. This tablet allows the children to make many choices and gives them lots of flexibility according to their skill level and interests.

As you can imagine, funding for items of this nature is not in the school's means or budget. However, I feel technology will play an enormous role in my students' lives and you have given them another tool to help them succeed in their future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cioci
