Deaf-initely Amazing Students!
Funded Jun 19, 2022My students and I appreciate your support for our Deaf Education classroom! They are thrilled with the new decor and materials needed for our new pizza business. They're ready to dive into learning the ins and outs of starting a business, shopping for ingredients, cooking, and communicating with non-signers.
We cannot thank you enough for choosing to support Deaf Education and my DEAF-initely amazing students! My students have so many opportunities to learn and thrive, thanks to YOUR help!
Thank you!”

Cooking Up Creativity!
Funded Mar 2, 2022Thank you SO much for donating to my Deaf Education classroom. My students were THRILLED to be able to use the new oven mitts, baster, and soap in our SPED wing kitchen. They always love to cook!
My Study Skills class enjoyed making their own designs using the Cricut machine vinyl. They're so creative! I'm always blown away with what they come up with. Thank you for your donation of the vinyl and the scoring tool.
My students' favorite items were the assorted snack boxes. I was able to keep the snack bins and their bellies full so they can focus on work in class.
Thanks for supporting Deaf Ed! We appreciate you!”

Adulting Day!
Funded Jan 9, 2022My students were so excited to receive the goodie bags full of supplies from Adulting Day. Each station that the students attended matched with an item on my request list. For example, they got measuring cups for the cooking station, a portable steamer and a sewing kit for the laundry station, tire gauges for the automotive station, slim wallets for the banking station, and personal care toiletry kits for the self-care station.
Thank you for your continued support of my deaf education classroom!”

Funded Aug 12, 2021My students absolutely love using the light up/chiming doorbell. They're able to know when someone is at our door because the visitor is able to push the doorbell attached to my door then the device lights up and rings on the wall in my classroom. It's SO cool and shows more equal access for my students. Before, people would knock and they wouldn't know why I would walk to the door. Now they can SEE when someone rings the doorbell. This is by far our most treasured device for our classroom.
My kids love the travel themed decor in my room. I LOVE to travel and I hope that these decorations inspire them to roam around the world one day.
Thank you for supporting my Deaf Education class!”

Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you for donating to my Deaf Education classroom. I LOVE the way my room turned out! My students are in love with the fun colors, travel theme, and chill/zen looking curtains. It brings the whole room together. Everyone who walks into my room has commented on how relaxing it feels in here. This is EXACTLY what I wanted for my students - a bit of piece and an "escape to the beach" feeling.
My students have absolutely loved using the epoxy to make their own unique creations on various materials, including metal tumblers. They also loved the applesauces. It was such a hit.
Thank you for supporting my classroom! We appreciate you!”

Funded May 5, 2021My students and I would like to thank you so very much for your donations towards their graduation parting gifts. They received a goodie bag filled with the keepsake Class of 2021 keychains, journals, and advice cards. It was very meaningful to watch these students cross the finish line this year after such a tough end of their high school career.
Many of my students come from low-income households so we greatly appreciate the donations to restock our pantry for our students to get yummy snacks or quick meals. They favorite is the Mac & Cheese! They say it's fun to make in the microwave.
Thank you so much for supporting Deaf Education!”

Funded May 4, 2021My seniors had the best time celebrating their graduation. We were THRILLED to learn that this year our district offered both a (socially distanced) traditional ceremony as well as a graduation walk. I could not have been more proud of the resilience these wonderful young men and women have shown throughout their educational career and, especially, this past year with COVID stirring around.
My students and I would like to thank you so much for the tumbler mugs and photo booth props. My students were able to design their own tumbler vinyl stickers to decorate their mug to celebrate their graduation. It was so special to everyone! Thank you!”

Funded Jan 22, 2021I had an INCREDIBLE time learning and I am so thankful to you all for the opportunity to virtually attend SXSWedu and the Mental Health Symposium for Deaf/Deafblind Youth. I always gain a ton of knowledge and techie skills at SXSWedu. My students benefit greatly because I bring back wonderful, engaging ideas to share with my students and use in my classroom. This year's keynote speakers were a.maz.ing - including Oprah!
The first annual Mental Health Symposium for Deaf/Deafblind Youth was also wonderful! I learned about coping strategies specific to the Deaf and Deafblind populations and how to better serve my students who need extra help getting in touch with mental health service providers. The research presented was shocking - and not a good kind of shocking. It was eye opening in that we (as a nation) NEED to beef up the mental health services for ALL (dis)abilities. There is such a need for additional legislation, service provider training and cultural education.
I am so grateful for the opportunity you all provided me to learn from these great professional development events! Thank you!”

Digitizing Deaf Ed
Funded Jan 1, 2021Thank you so much for donating to my deaf education classroom project! I have been able to use the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to make and adapt exciting, engaging lessons for my students. I'm able to individualize assignments to meet their specific needs which is so important! I've made fun games and assignments for our deaf education vocational class and my students learned about energy sources in science class.
It's been such a struggle this year to prep in an entirely new way since COVID. Everything we do now has to be online and these Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards definitely helped! Thank you so much for your support!”

Here, There, Everywhere!
Funded Oct 22, 2020Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only some of my students are back on campus and others remain virtual. During the time I have with my in-person students, we have set up a Makerspace time where they are learning how to develop their skills using the Cricut machine and heat press (as well as our 3D printer). They're excited to learn how to personalize bags to store their mask in when they're not wearing it (at lunch) or customize refillable hand sanitizer bottles to take with them throughout the day. This is such a practical skill for my students to develop! Thank you for your donation!”
