  • Help Us Grow!

    Funded Aug 27, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. With your contribution, I was able to make the library a more environmentally friendly and "greener" space. As soon as teachers and students enter the library, they are able to see the hanging plants in the windows. They really brighten up the space and make it feel more inviting.

We were also able to get garden trellises in which I put succulents in pots. Before there were empty walls at either end of the library. Now, the trellises look like something out of a magazine. They are absolutely beautiful.

The Fairy Garden is a big hit with both students and teachers. The students love to play with the fairy and unicorn. It is a cute addition to the library and helps to activate student curiosity and imagination.

Once again, thank you so much. Your donation will be seen for years and by the many people who come to our library space!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Conti

  • 3Doodler Pens For Unlimited Creative Experiences And Real World Design

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

We have been busy learning to use the 3-D doodler pens in our classroom and designing exciting projects! The kits come with easy to use directions, and my students have been able to pick them up and start working easily. These five and six-year-old students feel so empowered to be able to design something that they normally see on the shelf in a store or a prize bin. Creating bookmarks, rings, even ornaments! The students work together to design, and then create their projects. They get to take them home to share with family and explain the process of using 3-D pens. It is creating better language skills, responsibility, and empowerment in my classroom!”

  • LEGO Together, Friend's Forever!

    Funded Aug 29, 2022

Wow! I am so grateful for the support you gave that helped bring this project to life! The teamwork, collaboration and problem solving I have witnessed in my classroom while using these special materials has been amazing to see as a teacher.

When we first received the materials, my students were in awe of all of the new LEGO's they were going to get to use. I immediately saw students start to work together to decide what they wanted to build first! The set of building LEGO'S has been a huge hit during out weekly Fun Friday time!

Earlier this week we had a chance to use the Coding Express LEGO Education set as part of our Hour of Code activities. It was amazing to watch 23 students (plus two educators!) work together to figure out how to best code the LEGO set to make the train run. I am beyond excited to continue to watch my students collaborate together this school year to create new setups and designs.

Thank you again for your support. Thanks to donors like you, we are able to have these amazing experiences together. Happy Holidays!”

  • Marching to the Beat of Our Own Drummers

    Funded Nov 17, 2022

As you can see from the photos, my students LOVE the drum set you so kindly helped fund! From the time I open the library in the morning until I leave in the evening, there is nearly always someone over there making music. No only is your gift allowing my students to destress and relax, it is building their right to left brain connections as performing all music does. It has only been a few days, but already the kids are talking about musical collaborations between the drum kit, keyboard and guitars we have. The ukulele and bongos too! I am so grateful for your kindness and generosity. Thank you for supporting my project, and thank you for helping others on Donors Choose. We educators need folks like you. You are making our dreams for our students reality!”

  • Showing and Growing Our Math Knowledge Through Games and Teamwork!

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

Every day I am thinakful for the materials from DonorsChoose and donors like you for multiple reasons. Being able to work cooperatively is a focus skill of mine, even if it was not a standard. However, it is especially evident with this current 5th grade, who were 2nd graders when pandemic was swinging up, and who missed critical years of learning to work together, games and activities such as this make a huge difference in social skills.

I am also very thankful these math materials show students that Library IS everything - all topics- all interests- including math! With the different stations, corresponding book titles are put out for inspiration, and hopefully, checking out. Whether books on shapes, architecture, magnets or silly stories with math vocabualry, explicitly demonstrating that math is every where is super important.”

  • Be Our Hero & Sponsor A Sphero!

    Funded Nov 17, 2022

Technology is the way of the future. 20 years ago there was thousands of coding jobs now there are literally over a million. Coding is something students NEED to be familiar with and at a young age. There is amazing money to be made and kids are naturally good with technology so any little push is helpful. Picture this the silent reading time and suddenly students start hearting the sounds of this little sphereo bot zigging in and out of their desks. They loved and almost chorally asked "Can I do it?" They love these things and they are absolutely amazing at using them. Sphereo edu has many cool assignments for them to help learning code.

Next steps for me is getting some culturally relevant classroom decorations for my new room. I just made the move to 2nd grade and my dream job has opened up. The plan is to move to kindergarten and replace a 30 year veteran. I need this class to be culturally relevant as my predecessor is a local native and I am not.”

  • Let's Practice Math!!

    Funded Aug 27, 2022

Thank you so much for helping to fund this project. I teach Math for 4th grade bilingual students. My students are always ready to learn. My students use the app Imagine Math to practice Math problem solving during workstations. The program differentiate the problems for each student. The problems are in English but they have audio that read the problem in Spanish. They are using the headphones to practice Imagine Math without distracting their classmates. The long division dry erase boards are being use during small group intervention. They love them. We are using the grid sticky notes to practice multiplication because they can decompose the factors and make it easier to find the product. My students were super happy with the new materials. It's giving them tools that they need to make Math more accessible to them.”

  • Flexible Seating for Focused Students!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Wow, the students were floored to see these new seating options. We have many students with ADHD and traditional desk chairs are not the best for for them. With the stools they can focus on the lesson whole or small group and move around as their bodies need. The change was immediate and we could see the benefits across our classroom! We truly appreciate donors like yourself who have made this possible through donations to our classroom. It has provided resources for a class who just needed some additional supports to feel successful and because of you now they have this.”

  • Developing Empathy: 3D Printing for the Community

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

Thank you so much for the many community members that came together for this project. The pictures show a preview of the student project that these materials will continue to be used for. The pictures represent initial prototypes that will lead to the development of prosthetic arm prototypes in our robotics class. For our STEM class, students will participate in the MakeAble challenge in the Spring. In this challenge, students will research mobility issues, interview individuals, and develop a solution to improve mobility.

These projects are made possible because of donors like you! Students are actively engaged in the engineering design process, learning the fundamentals of 3D printing, and applying it to solve real world problems. Additionally, they are developing empathy and promoting their own social emotional health as they create these solutions. Thank you again for your support!”

  • Breakout of Boredom!

    Funded Aug 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. We used our Breakout box for a Halloween math escape. To say the kids loved it is an understatement. They worked together, cheering each other on while solving multiple problems and puzzles.

There were numerous students who said it was the best day ever! None of them realized they did more math practice than most other days. When they broke out and saw they "won" lollipops the room erupted in joy. I can't wait to use this again with them.

I am so grateful for donors like you. You allow teachers like myself to give my students experiences they wouldn't be able to have, and show them the power of a single act of kindness.”
