Discipline Equals Freedom: Growing Self and Reading Skills Through Determination
Funded Feb 22, 2025Thank you for your support of my students and their growth as individuals. We can’t wait to start this project! This book will be used as a tool to help them set achievable goals, develop a plan for reaching them, and track their progress throughout the course of the unit, while simultaneously developing their reading skills with engaging text. We truly can’t thank you enough!”

This classroom project was brought to life by A Local Family Foundation and one other donor.Show What You Know!
Funded Oct 31, 2024The generosity that you have shown my classroom is remarkable. You are making this possible for our kids! When I showed them the materials they were all excited to start using them and so far they've created some beautiful, thought provoking, and engaging anchor charts. They are really getting into showing what they know with these Post-it poster size papers and beautiful class sets of markers. The scented ones are a by far the favorite, so in the future I'll have to get them more than one pack! The color variety is also useful for our science content. The kids are doing a great job selecting colors intentionally to better represent the concepts they're studying.
I thank you for your continued support of education and of those who learn differently. Keep being amazing!”

This classroom project was brought to life by a local family foundation and 4 other donors.Building Knowledge, Growing Learners, And "Sticking" To It!
Funded Jan 11, 2017Thank you for taking the time out of your day to consider others, or more specifically my students! The materials that we received from this project have been put to use in so many ways this year. The kids were asking if they could "use the giant post-its for this"! They have created posters, completed gallery walks, and been able to take a stand to support their beliefs when posed with questions.
This year our kiddos participated in the #SpreadTheWordToEndTheWord campaign. They used the giant paper to share their thoughts and opinions in regards to being respectful of people with disabilities. It has been a successful year, made more successful by your generous donations.”

City of Words and a future of questions
Funded May 24, 2016Dear Donors,
The most amazing thing happened last year...you funded a project that allowed my students to have a class set of NEW novels, and to top it off, the author is going to video chat with them as they read the books! We are so lucky to have supporters like you!
The kiddos are so excited to have the opportunity to speak with the author and are loving the experience. They are coming up with questions for the author and they're really thinking about them! They want to be sure they ask an intelligent question when it's time.
Thank you again, it means the world to us!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Tricarico
Color Me Brilliant!
Funded Feb 3, 2016Again, thank you for your generosity! When my kids first saw the colored pencils all separated out so that they each have their own set to use their jaws dropped to the floor. "Ms. Hayes!! Is that like 600 pencils?!" They are so excited to use them, and each child has his own pencil sharpener in his container!
The children you have helped are using these colored pencils to organize their notes and learning in their interactive notebooks. We have used them to write poems about color in order to better understand imagery. Kids had to discuss and write about how their colors smell, taste, look, feel and sound. The photos I uploaded are of the kiddos' color poems hanging in the hall - check them out!
One last time -- we thank you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Tricarico
