• It Will Be so "Easely" To Make Masterpieces

  My students have been so excited to use the new easels we have for library and art.

  This week, we have been practicing writing on the easels themselves. The students love to be able to see through the easel to their friend that is writing across from them. A few students, were working together to write their ABC's.

  We have been able to create our very own Color Monsters on the easels. I am excited to be able to take the easels outside once it cools off, so they can paint in a different setting.”

• Growing Tiny Minds

  The students have been enjoying using their imaginations and building with the MagnaTile sets that we received. The absolutely love building race car tracks with the road MagnaTiles. We have used our watercolors several times during art to make monsters, Pokémon, and flowers.

  The plush toys are our library buddies. Every time the kids come to the library they get to pick a buddy to play with while doing stations. The Knuffle Bunny is a fan favorite right now.

• Fill the Shelf with Lots and Lots of Books

  Thank you for your donations to help fill our library shelves with lots of books. With your donations, I have been able to introduce new characters to my students. Learning about new book characters at four years old is like Christmas, they want to go find those books and "read" about those characters. With these books, their little minds have been opened to a world of loving books and finding joy in the characters, which will help them continue to love books as they grow and learn how to read the words, and find those book characters that bring joy to their lives.. Thank you for being apart of spreading the joy of books!”

• Playing Creates a World of Learning!

  My students are just getting to start enjoying the items that your donation helped get for them. They absolutely love the castle block set. Most of the time, my Pre-K studetns do not choose to work together when building. They want their own blocks, and they are so upset when they do not get how many they want. However, with the castle blocks, I have seen them decide to create the biggest castle using all the blocks and working together. They are not only able to use their imagination in creating the castle, they are also learning to work with others, problem solve, and being proud of themselves of what they accomplish. These blocks have 100% helped my students grow! Thank you for being a part of helping my amazing students.”

• Learning Through Art

  It has been so much fun watching the students using all the items I was able to purchase from all of your donations. Their favorite are the LCD writing tablets. They love that they can magically make their designs go away when they push a button. They have so much fun with the squish squeeze sensory beads. They have created animals, shapes, and so many other things while playing with it.

  There is nothing more exciting than watching the kids being introduced to new items in the library. They get so excited and they all want to go first!

  We will be doing some popscicle art soon. We will be making them into people. I can't wait to watch them creating!”

• Book Character Library Buddies

  I work with 180+ 3-5 year old children at the Early Childhood Center that I work at. It is important to foster a child's love of books as early in life as possible. It is very important for children to be read to as often as possible. Children can learn to read even before they learn their ABCs. I purchased our library book character buddies to help foster that love.

  I ordered enough library book buddies, that each child can hang out with one of their their favorite book characters while doing library stations. The buddies are part of a goal to get our students excited about books.

  The children love to take their buddies to read, draw, build, and to help them pick out their library books. The excitement a student gets when they can find the book their book buddy lives in is amazing. The book buddies help them want to find those books and join them in their very own stories!”

• Reading Begins Here!

  We talk about what an author and illustrator do every time we read a book in the library. We are beginning to learn what fiction and nonfiction books are. We are working on predicating what is going to happen in the books, and also being able to retell the story.

  Most of all, we are working on learning to love a good book. The students check out books once a week, and they take them back to their classrooms. In their classrooms, the teachers read them to them, and the students get plenty of time to look at their library books. They are using great prereading skills every time they open up their book and tell their own story from what the pictures in their books.

  Every book that we have been able to buy, is available for all students to check out!”
