  • Let's Make Learning Financial Literacy a Reward!

    Funded May 16, 2019

Thank you once again for your generous donation to my classroom. You have continued to make our learning environment one that is both fun and inviting. Math can be a true grind for my students and that makes it more likely that they will try to avoid the subject. To have materials like these that make students want to do math is such a huge benefit for them. Financial literacy is a very abstract concept for children as they don't often deal with money, so to have games that allow children to interact with finances is a great way to introduce them to the world of finance. Thank you so much for the sustained positive impact you've had on my classroom.”

    Mr. Shain

  • Adding to Our Fun, Financial Literacy Math Rotations

    Funded Aug 23, 2019

Thank you once again for your generous donations to our classroom. Once again you have contributed to the fun side of education for my students. Math can be a grind, and financial literacy can be confusing, but to have games that my students can play that immerse them into the world of finance is a far my engaging than rote memorization of math problems. My students clamor for the opportunity to get their hands on these materials, rather than groaning when it's time to learn math. They will work so hard just to have the chance to play these math games. That level of engagement is vital to the success in an environment where focus is such a struggle.”

  • Let's Starts the School Year Off Right!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you again for your generous donations to our classroom projects. Every year I begin the year with a school supplies project, and once again you've come through to help me out with that. For a child of poverty to come to school knowing they don't have to worry about their basic supplies is huge for them emotionally. Our children deal with so much trauma outside of class that it's nice for them to have one thing that they don't have to worry about. What's best is that you've supplied me with so many materials that I'm able to help out teachers in other grade levels as well; your project has no affected the lives of 500 instead of only 30. You'll never know the deep impact you've made in the lives of the children at our school with your generosity.”

  • Making Science Fun!

    Funded Mar 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation of this science kit. I was able to donate it to another classroom to help their students to make science fun. It is always important for our students to be engaged across all curriculum, and having a kit like this to make bubbles can really grasp a child's attention. The ability to learn about density and math through the use of bubbles is a fun way to get children to learn about science and math in a way that's not sitting in the classroom listening to more, "blah, blah, blah" from the teacher. Your support, once again, has made learning fun for the students at our school.”

  • One More Piece for My Flipped Classroom

    Funded Feb 19, 2019

Thank you so much for your continued generosity. Continuing to build my technology library has been a huge plus for my classroom. As we live in a digital age, my students need to be come more technologically savvy and this is one more piece to help them with that. So much of what we do is based around going online to get assignment, practice content, and display the knowledge that our students have gained. With funding the way it is in our district we are devoid of the necessary technology to get every child in front of a computer each day. You have helped make it possible for one more child to be able to do that now in my room. Thank you so much; you are true heroes.”

  • Financial Literacy Doesn't Have To Be Boring

    Funded Sep 11, 2018

Thank you so much for your continued generosity. This project is a little different than the ones I usually do, as this was intended to not only help my classroom but to also help out various other grade levels at my school. When all was said and done, this project impacted the lives of almost every child in our school as I was able to provide materials to Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. That is a whole lot of little lives that you helped to shape and mold. I find it very important for children to understand the impact of money in our society, so to be able to get this much bang for our buck was incredible. Even going all the way down to the Kindergarten level, these children are now able to look at flash cards and start to recognize different coins and dollar bill denominations. I've seen this impact already at my student store where even the youngest children come up to me knowing how much money they have in their pockets (something that wasn't the case in the past). Thank you so much for continuing to support my classroom, my students, and the community at large. You'll never know just how big of an impact you make, and that's what makes your kindness all the more special.”

  • Let's Help Our Kids Stay Healthy at School

    Funded Jan 17, 2019

I absolutely loved this project. Personal hygiene is always overlooked as a need for a school like mine but it's so vitally important. One of the best ways to get kids to start good habits is to get them while they are young. I was able to donate a lot of these materials to our Kindergarten team to get those adorable little five year-olds into the habit of being healthy at an early age. My son is in one of those classes, and even though he has a litany of personal hygiene products at home, he was so excited that he was able to bring home a toothbrush and some dental floss after his teacher taught a lesson in oral hygiene. I know his classmates appreciated it as well, as many of them came up to me and thanked me for providing their class with the materials. YOU made that happen and I'm so grateful for your continued support.”

  • Teaching Character Education Through Flag Football

    Funded May 16, 2018

This project has actually ended up being one of my absolute favorite so far. I love that we run an activity that helps teach children the benefits of teamwork, the maturity that comes from respecting authority, and the good health that comes from physical activity. 40% of our student population has chosen to participate in our football program and these new supplies have been invaluable in supporting the initiative. We now have enough flags and belts for every child that wishes to participate, and the new jerseys are bright and fresh! It has been great seeing the different level of respect our teacher-referees get now that they have an official referee uniform. It is clear to the students to whom they need to show respect. I even caught the PE teacher sneaking a peak at our practice the other day with a smile on his face. Any extra physical activity during school hours is a huge bonus in this day and age. Thank you again so much for your generosity.”

  • The Last Piece to Flip My Classroom

    Funded Dec 10, 2018

I have recently decided to take my teaching even further into the 21st century by making all of the content I teach available online through Google Classroom. I was able to procure a number of computers from other classrooms but the one thing that I realized I was missing was headphones. Seeing that my grade level departmentalizes, that means I've got 169 students coming through my room every day. With no headphones, those groups of 36+ can get pretty noisy as they are watching their math videos. Being able to gift each child their own set of ear buds will allow them to all to work in peace as they explore the wonderful world of mathematics. I know it doesn't seem like much, but even this seemingly small gesture can have a profound impact on the lives of these students. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • A Mid-Year Supply Reinforcement

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

Thank you so much for your continued generosity. I know it sounds crazy to need a mid-year supply reinforcement, but you'd be shocked at how quickly things like pencils and dry erase markers run out of supply. With 169 students coming through my room daily, they are in constant need for all of the supplies you have helped provide them with. Another thing you'd be surprised about is how much fourth and fifth graders love to be creative with markers and crayons and colored pencils. I always thought they'd feel "too cool" to color their assignments but I was dead wrong. These children love to let their creativity flow when they are completing their classroom projects. I am moving into a data analysis unit in the next month or so and our bar graphs are going to look awesome thanks to your donation. Anything we can do to motivate children to do these projects is huge. Thank you once again for continuing to support my classroom and these children.”

I am so fortunate that I get to work with a great group of kids everyday. My class is comprised of special education children, gifted children, and the rest of my class is general education. They are eager learners that love their school. Unfortunately, we live in a low income area, which makes it hard for these kids to get even the basic supplies needed for our class, not to mention luxuries like extra technology or pre-made centers. The thing I like best about the classes I've had is that they have a lot of fun learning and don't let any outside issues they may have deter them from attempting to get the most out of their education. It is my goal to be able to provide these kids with as many tools, resources, and avenues for success as possible to help them achieve at the level they deserve.
