Mathematicians Need Supplies
Funded Aug 15, 2023Students loved having Playdoh on their first day of school! It made them feel welcome and relaxed. We also used it for our decimal unit to show how small tenths, hundredths and thousandths are! It was so much fun! We continue to use dry-erase markers for our daily number talks as students are more confident in their skills and love that they can easily erase their errors.
Students have especially enjoyed the galaxy projector during math review where we can turn off the lights as it is relaxing and stress-free! Students look forward to the end of the six weeks review games.
Thank you for supporting our classroom!”

Funded Feb 6, 2022Thank you so much for your donation! Students were extremely excited when they walked into my Camping Theme classroom. They loved the LED lighting and flexible seating throughout the room. We were able to have a week of STAAR review in the dark! Many of my students struggle staying seated normally and are unable to focus. This was not an issue with the supplies that were donated. I know this theme will be a hit for years to come and I will be able to incorporate other fun activities with my new supplies.
The donation of expos were one of the best parts of this project. Students were able to work outside, around the room and were not afraid to make mistakes! They wrote on desks, whiteboards and anything they could find! I love creating an environment where student are not afraid to make mistakes because problems can be erased and reattempted.
The backpacks full of supplies will be very helpful for my next year of students. We tend to receive new students after the first six weeks of school and most of the time they have no school supplies. I cannot wait to make their transition easier as they will have everything they need to start the year at our school. Thank you!”

Funded Aug 5, 2021My students where ecstatic when they entered my classroom for their first day of fifth grade! They loved the calming Star Wars theme, lighting and flexible seating. Even the parents were excited to see where their children were going to learn about math each day! As the year has progressed, the class asks to turn our fluorescent lights off while they work. My led lights, light covers and glowing stars help with classroom management and stress. It's a game changer.
We also utilize all of the supplies that were donated to work on daily number talks. One particular student, Alenna, told me over and over again that she loves having her lightbulb moments when she shows the class her answers with her personal white board, markers and erasers.
Students are now hyped for Fridays, so they can be rewarded for their hard work with time in our maker space and Sphero station. They are having so much fun, that they don't realize they are still learning! I can't thank all of my donors enough for supporting us in such a huge way.”

Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Sep 28, 2020Thank you so much the headphone donations for my virtual class. Students were able to collaborate and focus with their headsets! I have many students who have faced adversity and hardships during Covid and we're unable to purchase a headset on their own. I have one student that wore hers during every Teams call and set the bar for how to interact in a virtual environment. She has younger siblings and was often distracted by the activities going on at home. These headsets made all the difference! :)”
